Simple question. Get to know each other.
For me, it's "World Leader Pretend" by R.E.M.

18 songs on my soundtrack for a dark sci-fi I'm penning currently dominate my earwaves...
BUT I just saw that Toby Mac has a new album out ;D entitled, "Tonight." I've sooo gotta have that. I LOVE Toby Mac.

Listening to my daughter breathe via her baby monitor. I love that sound. It calms me.
When I write I like to listen to drum and base. It is a fast beat, and there are no lyrics to get in the way of my writing.
When I'm not writing, I will listen to anything but country. I don't want to hear about the tractor, dog, girlfriend, and your heart dying. If I want to get depressed I will turn on the news.

I'm going to take this as a "while you're writing" question. I've been listen to latin and "post rock" instrumental music. "Rio" by Aterciopelados and the horribly named "Beacons of Ancestorship" by Cul de Sac are top of my writing pops.
How's the new Spoon, trellick? I've been listening too Ga, Ga, Ga, Ga, Ga again and my credits are about to refresh on eMusic so I may pick that up.

It's great! But I'm a bit of a Spoon freak, so I would say that. It reminds me of very old Spoon (Telephono). I love it. That said, I don't listen to anything when I write. I am a big music fan but find it distracting when I'm trying to write anything at all. I need to be able to see the images in my head and hear the dialogue very clearly. Could be the ADD. Echo - I love Humbug too. A great album.

I was listening to Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" earlier (favourite album for writing), but currently it's The National's "Alligator."

The Raconteurs, "Consoler of the Lonely" at work right now. While writing lately I have gotten away from listening to music and been listening to programs on NPR. The real world is so bizarre that it never ceases to inspire me.
