Usually 'Kind of Blue' by Miles Davis, or 'Since I've Left You' by the Avalanches.

Ok, right now: Joe Jackson's Jumpin' Jive.
Jumping back into the pages after 2 weeks of blah. Don't usually listen to music while writing. Wish me luck.

love the raconteurs! I've been listening to Eminem's albums (mostly the Eminem show) on loop, which doesn't really work out too well when I'm writing, because I keep getting distracted listening to his lyrics.

I know exactly what you mean violet. I tend to listen to songs that are quite repetitive lyrically. That way I don't end up singing along.

Correction (not that anyone will care,but...): the Cul de Sac album is actually well titled--Immortality Lessons. The other is a Tortoise album. Both are good for writing-abstract and wordless.

I'm listening to Jay-Z's American Gangster album as I write a teen dramedy. Results should be interesting.

Late Night Alumni - Light Reading (new find, awesome lounge/house). But can't write to them, lyrics tend to distract me when i write.
