How ya' doin' pardners? Hope everyone's projects are treating them well. I've been toiling away on a new project. Learned a lot recently, shed some bad writing habits that have plagued me for a while, trying on some new ones.
You guys and gals read Snyder's final book, "Save the Cat Strikes Back?" It's quite wonderful. An eye opener. A lot of the gripes I had about his initial book were pretty much put to rest with this one. I hate to go all "born-again" on you folks but if you're at a point where you're stagnated either in a project or where you're at with your scriptwriting in general, you do owe it to yourself to give Snyder's processes a once over. People have lobbed the "formulaic" criticism his way (hell, I'm pretty sure I was one of those people) but even if you takeaway HALF of what he suggests, you're still ultimately doing your projects and yourself a service.
Anyway, bye for now, keep in touch, keep your teeth clean...

Interesting. Blake Snyder is the one guru I've yet to check out, but check out I shall, my good man!

I really want to thank you, Jeff, for giving a heads up about Snyder's final tome. I wasn't the biggest fan of the original STC but after reading your review, thought I'd give this a shot and am glad I did.
My biggest take away? I'm putting up a cork board on the wall opposite my desk tonight. And this is from one who tried and failed with the note cards many times over the years. Now I feel like I won't be able to write another project without them. Don't know why but it just makes sense this time.
Thanks again. I, too, think this is a must-read.

Yes! Received it on Saturday. So far I have to agree with the good reviews. Found the first chapter very useful right off the bat -- concerned loglines and pitches.

Hi Mike!
So then, how was the book? Worth purchasing (I'm sure it is)?
