I know this is something that's been overdone in literature and various nonfiction books, and there's a movie already coming out on this, but I thought I'd give it a twist of my own, even though the logline might sound the same. So here it goes:
The Wandering Christ: Jesus meets a Buddhist Monk who entices him into a world journey in which he learns the different philosophies that will help him in his own personal quest for the salvation of the world.

delson,
I get the drift, but, again, simplify:
A young troubled Jesus, struggling with his personal quest for the salvation of the world, befriends a Buddhist Monk who changes everything.
I think this would make for an interesting flick, a chance to see the ‘human’ side of Jesus. It could play out as a buddy-film and/or a road-film depending on how it is written.
Good luck and
Keep Writing!

Would this flick fill in the missing years of Jesus' life?

brianhaas: Loved the book! It's a very comic tale, but I'm going for a more serious tone. @sean: Yes, it would. It's based on some sources the Church might consider heresy, like the Infancy Gospels, and Ancient Indian and Buddhist texts I read while in India. Plus, some of it is fictionalized to keep it interesting for audiences.
