I wrote this about a year ago after reading a news story. I don't know if it could make a movie, but it literally popped into my head as is almost immediately after reading the clip. I don't know if it would be scifi, satire, or what.
The global ecosystem overrun by artificially created Co2 consuming algae to combat global warming, humans must now produce massive amounts of Co2 to save earth.

Dmedley,
Welcome to the GITS Club… hope you enjoy your stay.
I will start things off by giving you my take on loglines. They should contain at least four (4) pieces of information: the protagonist; the antagonist; the situation; the stakes. In this particular logline you have laid out the situation: global ecosystem overrun by artificially created Co2 consuming algae; and the stakes: to save earth.
Missing is a protagonist with a flaw – someone for the audience to identify with and root for. And an antagonist – someone for the audience to ‘hate’.
In order for this to be a potential movie you will need to put your thinking cap on and develop a protagonist and an antagonist, rewrite your logline and resubmit it here. We aren’t going anywhere, so take your time; make it right; and always
Keep Writing!

Thanks, mscherer.
I agree with everything you say. Basically, it's just a small seed of an idea and little else at this point. It's been kicking around in my brain pan for awhile waiting for more work.
Regards.
