Hi everyone.
One or twoaya might remember me. I was around here ages ago when this place opened. Glad to drop in again and find it pretty much as I left it. Good people helping each other out.
It's been a few months. Two projects at work, a sense of an oncoming burnout, and hitting the 100 post mark here, were good enough excuses to stop what I was doing to myself with screenwriting. I was on the wrong track. I'd forgotten what I was doing it for.
So, with some apologies for my abrupt departure, I'm back. Burnout averted. Fun restored. Maybe it's the vitamin D. I'll be around here again, not daily, but checking in.
I had wanted to learn this craft to improve my short films. I'd only made two of them, and I'd wanted the next one to be better. I think my time on GITS club was helpful in that regard, because two weeks ago I co-wrote and shot this short film in under 48 hours. Editing took longer --- but the whole thing was in the can in 8 days.

It's amateur. I'm proudly amateur. And there are two things which are amazing about this short for me.
1) It appears on screen exactly as it was written, save a couple of great improvisations from the actors and some judicious cutting by yours truly
2) I see in the product, that I'm finding my voice
I hope you can spare some time to have a look, and one or two of you might even enjoy it. :-)
You'll get to see me, I'm on the screen.
Andrew
P.S. mybrainhurts: Sorry I took off in the middle of that earthquake feature the group was writing. I don't remember where we were at, or what we were doing. In the meantime, it's like I wiped my mind and started over...
