A Proposition

As I've mentioned before, I was a reader and development exec for two years. I'm here on this board to atone. I didn't do any evil: hopefully, in some very marginal sense, I may have helped. But this wasn't enough. I got into development because I wanted to help writers. This didn't happen. But maybe it can now.

My proposition. I'd like to take a writer, help them develop ideas, write a script, draft and redraft the script. From conception all the way to final draft. No money needed: I'm doing this for my own sake, to learn by teaching, to do some good in the world. Only requirement is that you have time, curiosity, and very thick skin.

What sort of script are you looking for? In terms of genre, themes, etc.
I have a pitch, I'll drop you a line, but it would be helpful to know what you're looking for.

I'm not interested in any kind of script. I'm interested in working with writers, of all and any stripes, helping them develop material, helping them craft their own voice. Drop me an email; if you have time, enthusiasm and thick skin, you're right.

Mike & Jeff, thank you for the kind words, but I don't see this as generosity. It's an experiment in collaboration, in conversation as education. And I have my own reasons, too: I want to hone my own skills as a reader and a teacher, I want to do what I can to better my (our!) chosen art-form.
