Good morning fellow GITS Club Members. Post-Oscars I was wondering how this event affects writers who want to break into the business. Do you find the Oscars inspirational? Does watching the Oscars make you want to be part of the Hollywood community? From watching the Oscars do you feel drawn to industry? Do the Oscars encourage you to write on? Or do you feel the opposite; do the Oscars have no affect on your ambitions as a writer? Do you view the Oscars with a jaded eye? Maybe don't like Oscars, BUT still enjoy writing?

I got to say glitz and glamor inspire a little bit. But the fact that i saw most of the movies, and seeing the deserving ones win inspires me more. I liked how they showed the scripts along with clips during the "adapted screenplays" part (missed the original screenplay). Definitely gives the scripts/writers credit, where credit is always due.

I hate the pagentry, but I do like to see new people succeed every year. The awards for screenplay, short films, adapted screenplay, etc tend to have a lot of turnover and are inspirational for me
