Barry Levinson, WGA Foundation & Paley Fest

Last night I happened upon one of the Writer's Guild Foundation 'Writers on Writers' events in L.A. Diane English got up and chatted about the WGA Foundation and then introduced Levinson with a clip reel. During the brief Q/A session an audience member asked him what was the most influential thing that helped his writing and he said it was one thing: "Taking a improvisational acting class." He said that finding what real people act like and talk like can be found in a great improvisational class - "everything about a script comes from the character." Just wanted to share that bit of insightful info.

If you get a chance check out the WGA Foundation events. They have some terrific writing series coming up. Also, Paley Fest starts next week and tix to most of these events are $20 bucks.
