This board's been pretty quiet lately, but I see that a couple of us are still stopping by briefly. I thought I'd make a thread for us to briefly post when we do check in For me, I've been working on a very small videogame with a friend, so I'm afraid the screenwriting has stopped for the moment. I'm looking forward to getting back into it though. Other than that, I've started watching The Wire. Now that is some good ish. Damn. Y'all should check it out. How about you? What are you up to?

I've been fairly quiet on here too, but only for the very best of reasons. All my downtime spent on my contemporary sci-fi thriller, which is shaping up beautifully. A totally original story with a bunch of elements that twist the genre, origami-like, into exciting new shapes.
Oh, and as I've been typing this, I just found out I have a new job! So goodbye Solomon Islands, hello Federated States of Micronesia!

I have been working 10-15 hours days while still trying to keep my sanity and my family together. I write when I have a few minutes here and there, usually after midnight when everyone is in bed.
The dream lives and I will keep pushing forward until the dream is a reality.

The last nine months have been, probably, the worst months of my life. Most of you regulars will know the story, but for our newer members, the Cliff Notes version: 1. Sold old house 2. Bought new house 3. Had to live in hotel for a month waiting for new house to finish. 4. Mother-in-law became ill: Several months in hospital; Six weeks in rehab; Now permanently ensconced in a nursing home. 5. Wife became ill – spent Christmas and New Years in hospital. 6. Preparing for youngest daughter’s wedding in July. In between I have been working (50 mile commute one way) and only finding time to write on the weekend. Bless my lovely wife… she allows me five hours on Saturday and four hours on Sunday at the coffee shop to write. Since completing my last script, Red Frenzy, I have started a contained thriller ( Cocos Island – which a producer wants to see when finished); a sci-fi action-adventure ( Bad Penny – 70 pages in); and writing up notes on a sci-fi comedy ( Soul Mates). On top of all the writing I have been making a pest of myself around Hollywood querying producers and managers. To date I have eleven various scripts out to producers and managers. Fingers crossed Needless to say, I have been neglecting the GITS Club Message Board, something I intend to remedy now that the dust has settled and I think I know where I am going with my writing. Sorry for the extensive essay – but you did ask. ;D Keep Writing!

Ben: Congrats on the script! and the job. It sure does feel nice when things click @brain: It'll happen! I'm sure your subconscious is pounding out your stories for you right now. Hope work lets up soon. (Are you in the software industry? Is it crunch time?) @mike: Sorry for your rough months, hopefully it's sunny up ahead! As always, you've been busy on the writing front. I wish you the best with your queries and scripts and, of course, I'm sure many of us would be happy to take a look when you're ready to post for feedback!

I've been beavering away on a second dradt of my feature, and even wrote a short for a competition. I have, alas, been a bit slack on visiting this forum. I moved house at the begining of May, and was without the internets for a while there. I usually post from work (which I am now), but that's been hectic of late, so no posting for me.

I'm still hammering away at that second draft I mentioned before. I've also written a few shorts, one of which won a small competition the other day, so that was nice. I might post them up if people fancy having a lens.
What else have peeps been upto lately?
