Pay attention, Boys and Girls… Follow the rules to a ‘T’!
Want to have one of your short scripts put to film?
Here’s some contest news from Scott Myers at Go Into The Story (www.gointothestory.com/):
------------------------ Announcement ------------------------
A professional acquaintance Kevin Wild approached me recently with a question. Kevin runs an outfit called Drawbridge Media, a full-service video and multimedia production studio. I've known Kevin for several years and he is a huge film buff, the kind of guy who no matter how busy he is, he makes time to attend the Austin Film Festival nearly every year.
Kevin explained to me after making many short films, Drawbridge is moving toward making an independent feature. And why not? He's got a production facility, equipment, and co-workers who can handle every aspect of production and post. So here was Kevin's question: If he and his crew wanted to start their filmmaking venture by gaining experience producing, shooting, and editing some test scenes, could I help?
I talked it over with Kevin, then with Jeff Messerman and Mike Scherer at The GITS Club, and we came up with a strategy: Create a "Scene-To-Shoot Challenge" for The GITS Club members. Here are the ground rules:
* Participants should write 1-2 scenes. They don't have to tell a complete story, but if you can pull that off, great.
* Maximum of 4 characters.
* Maximum of 2 locations.
* Nothing too extravagant as far as stunts, makeup, locations, wardrobe.
One proviso: Given how busy things get at Drawbridge, there are no guarantees in terms of timetables for production.
What this represents is an opportunity for you to see something of what you've written get translated onto the screen, then posted online as a video for the world to see.

Good luck and
