Write a three page short about the following: A young girl finds herself locked in a basement with a Zombie.Deadline: Sunday, October 31, 2010. Addendum (added Oct. 13):I will pick the top three (3) scripts and you, the members, will vote for the winner. Yes, you will have to do some work here and read some shorts -- then vote. Make it as scary, horrific, and terrifying as you can , or… Make it as funny and hilarious as you can ;D… or… Make it into a RomCom . You decide. Pick a genre you are comfortable with and run with it. Let’s see those imaginations at work. Surprise your reader. Make’em cry, or laugh, or think. Whatever you decide, just Keep Writing!

Well, I gave it a shot when I got home from work today. Couple things - I went past three pages up to five. Also - I chose not to make her a young girl but 18 years old. Hope that's okay. It was fast so there are probably mistakes. I will probably do another one -- probably different genre. Fun stuff Mike - I like what you did with the boards. It's definitely different. ADDENDUM - Just see something I missed in the original screenplay I did - It was fast and I forgot the most basic heading - (INT. BASEMENT -- DAY) I am going to submit the corrected screenplay below - since it will not let me do it in this modify. Attachments:

Mark, No hard'n fast rules here -- only guidlines. If five pages is what it takes, then five pages it is. As for the young girl thing --- to me, 18 is young ;D.
Peter, Glad you like the changes. Hope more folks feel that way.
Keep Writing!

Another quick one for the challenge. This one is different than the first one I did (which I like to this is comedy). Anyway this one is horror. Attachments:

Sixteen days left!!! So far we have three entries -- come'on people!! There are 360+ members registered at the GITS Club! And only three entries!?!?I thought you people were WRITERS! Is it because there is no prize? Whatever happened to SATISFACTION? Satisfaction in completing a task. Satisfaction in meeting a challenge. Satisfaction in beating a deadline. If, one day, you get a writing assignment, from a Hollywood producer, with a deadline -- is this how you will respond? Come'on!! Consider this practice for that day. Write, people. Write some more. Then just Keep Writing!

www.scribd.com/doc/39482668/A-Rogue-Is-BornFinally I can allow myself to read other people's submissions! On that note, I wonder if we're supposed to criticise them. Oh. Oh. I wonder if it might be an opportune place to ask about what words in action sections have to be in all capitals. I haven't read anything about it on the Internet, but have seen a lot of times here, and so far I think new characters and important objects are capitalized. Maybe also sounds. Or is it, like, for production and post-production, so what people have to set up, what foley artists have to make... No, that doesn't make sense. Help? Edit: edit: Okay, no critique, then.

Oooops! My bad. I will read all of the challenge entries. I will then pick the top three, maybe four, and THEN you, the members, can read each one and vote for your favorite. I should have made clear at the beginning. No critiquing needed. Apologies.

Nothing to show as yet but hey, there's still time ;D
Also, I'm hoping to shoot this script as a fun little Halloween film too. Wondered if anybody else is having similar thoughts?

I, too, intend to do one more, at the weekend. This morbid theme is proving to be quite fruitful, ain't it?
