Funny. Spurred somewhat by some comments about the script I posted last week, my mind has turned to another story idea I've been collecting notes on for a while, one that I originally envisioned as a script, but now see more as a novel (at least until it's published and Hollywood comes calling).
Anyway, just wondering if anyone here has ever tackled a novel and how it went.

I've been developing a novel myself. It's a slow-coming project because it isn't the focus of my life right now, but I'm hoping I can finish it someday.
The only advice I can offer is something Hemingway said: "Write everything. Edit like hell."
Good luck,

Jonathan,
Someday. I started out writing fiction (primarily short stories) -- had a few published -- and ended up taking a screewriting class only because I had already taken all the fiction writing courses. The rest, as they say, is history.
I fully intend to write a novel one day -- have plenty of story ideas -- if this screenwriting gig doesn't work out.
I think if your story is crying out to be a novel, that's what it should be. Not all story ideas will fit on the silver screen.
Besides, it's always good to have other writing skills to fall back on as you,
Keep Writing!
