I hate having to use this word in a story. Discuss.

Otto Preminger's "Anatomy of a Murder" had the distinction of being the first movie to utilize the word "panties" in dialogue. Caused quite a ruckus, so they say.
If you are disquieted by this word representing female undergarments, I would highly recommend you avoid this film. The offending noun is uttered repeatedly.

Pants!
(In the UK this means underwear. Beware when complimenting your new British producer on his trousers.)

I hate having to wear panties when I write! Some screenwriting guru said it would help me think better. I still think that guy might've been a scam artist. Hmmmm...

Surely you mean knickers? That is what our English girls wear (although not on a Saturday night).

always hated that word myself and refuse to use it. I can't tell you what the origin of my distatste for that word is, but it somehow doesnt feel like a real word. Right up there with my hatred of all the words that now end "ista"
